Polls & Surveys Are Untrustworthy

I received a survey call this evening. The caller asked if I would participate by answering 6 to 8 quick questions.

 I agreed.

The first question was, “Do you have a favorable or unfavorable view of Hillary Clinton?”

 I answered, “Unfavorable.”

Guess he didn’t like that answer, because he hung up.

That
s why I don’t trust surveys or polls. I think the surveying companies will call until they get what they consider the right answer. And all the people they spoke to who didn’t answer correctly,  won’t be counted, which of course will skew the results.

So all the polls out there now on the election are BS, in my opinion.

I’ll wait until the votes are counted but in the back of my mind, I’ll wonder how much cheating went on.

It’s really sad that I’ve become so skeptical.

  4. The results of the polls are based around two issues. Who do they poll and how is the question structured. The structure of the question can greatly sway the answer and, like you pointed out, the audience is of prime concern. I get a mixed reaction when asked by pollsters if I am a republican or democrat. When I tell them I am a fiscally conservative social liberal they don't know what to say.

This year the polls have been wrong more than right. Trump will be out in a month, Bernie will be lucky to get three percent of the primary vote and Bush will be the republican nominee. Somehow none of those polls were even close.
There is such a distaste of both candidates that who know what will happen. The MSM can slant their news all they want to the left but the privacy of the voting booth will bring out true sentiment. I believe there are a lot of voters who will not acknowledge supporting trump but will give him their vote.
The prospect of -H- is appalling and another four years of the current administrations horrible economic policies and economy may make some people desire a change. I just wish we had a different option but we don't.

    1. Skudrunner, the polls this election cycle have been more wrong than right. And you're right, who knows what's going to happen. We have a choice of the lesser of two evils, which isn't a choice, but it seems to be the way of things anymore. I too wish we had a different option.
      Thanks for stopping by!

  5. Polls are nothing more (or less) than snapshots of a specific time period and are as dynamic as the mood of the electorate.

Questions are designed to solicit desired results and so yes, polls are not truly objective. Which is why composite polls are more representative of the electorate's mood.

  7. "...the trolls won't get to me. They are just pathetic."

And we can add "impotent" to what they are. Can you imagine what sort of miserable lives they lead? Their biggest thrill is leaving nasty comments on an internet blog?

What sad, pathetic, impotent little rodents.
