We Can't Afford To Be PC

This administration has been slow, if not asleep, when calling terror attacks what they are. Instead, they use terms like workplace violence and hate crimes. And to top it off, you have the AG, Loretta Lynch, suggesting we show love and compassion to the monsters that kill in the name of Allah.

Al Qaeda and ISIS don’t care about love and compassion. They want us DEAD. And to prevent any future attacks being misconstrued, they’ve given instructions to “avoid targeting places where minorities are found” and advise their followers to target areas “where the Anglo-Saxon community is generally concentrated. This class of the American community is the majority and it is the one that is in the American leadership.”

We need to call terror attacks terror attacks and they are perpetrated by radical Jihadists.

You can’t treat pneumonia properly if you call it compromised lung disorder.  And we can’t beat the terrorists if we pussy foot around, acting politically correct, in order to avoid hurting their feelings.

Sorry, I don't swallow Trumps complaint about Clinton not calling the enemy what Trump wants her to call them.
"Al Qaeda and ISIS don’t care about love and compassion. They want us DEAD."
Do you truly believe Obama, or Clinton don't understand that?
I wouldn't call Tim McVey a radical jihadists, but he was a terrorist. Maybe some of these nut jobs are just using that cover to commit their acts. Officials still think the Orlando shooter might have done this because he could not accept he was gay. If society didn't tell him he was a sinner going to hell for being gay, maybe he wouldn't think about killing.
I watched both FOX and MSNBC last night (which I do all the time) and the talking heads on both sides agreed, that the upsurge in these attacks is because America is squeezing them out of their territory. So it seems Obama is being successful in his strategy to attack the enemy. And all the talking heads also agreed there would be more attacks as we have more success against them. Sounded logical to me.

    1. Tom,
If it’s not called a Rose, then how can you tell the gardener what plant to prune?

I’m not referring to Trump’s complaint. I take what he says with a grain of sand. I’m referring to what I personally think Clinton should call them. Yes, Obama and Clinton know ISIS and Al Qaeda want us dead. So if they are so serious about decimating them, why has ISIS/Al Qaeda doubled in the last 8 years?

Timothy McVeigh was a terrorist, for sure, but he didn’t do it in the name of a religion. He was mad at our government whom he thought was the ultimate bully. ISIS et al wants everyone who doesn’t believe in their warped mindset to die.

The Orlando terrorist could very well have committed his atrocity because he was gay. However, he praised Allah and swore allegiance to ISIS. Now, could that have been a cover up? Yes, it could’ve been. Our society is more accepting of gays than the Middle East.

I guess we could blame America. But do you honestly believe if we had never, ever gone to the Middle East they would be peaceful with us today? I have a difficult time believing that. They are warped and demented and would probably find another reason why they need to attack us.

    2. Bin Laden said the same thing. He attacked the U.S. because we had our troops in their land. We created this mess by invading Iraq, which had no WMD's.
How would you feel if Iran had the power to remove our democratically elected president, install one of their puppets as our leader, then that leader tortured and killed 10's of thousands of American citizens. We would not have stood for that for over 20 years as Iran did. America is great at making enemies.
Would they have attacked us anyways? These groups didn't even exists until after we invaded Iraq. So no, it is not a given we would be attacked, if we had not made such errors. Saddam would never have allowed them to survive if he was still alive. He hated them and Bin Laden.
We screwed up and it came back to bite us.
Did it matter what we called Hitler? This word game, is just a game and has nothing to do with serious strategy against the enemy. It is also simply the latest Trump and RNC talking point.
I have no problem going after them big time, but that will increase the attacks against us. And what does going after them mean to you. Should we drop an A bomb? We will need to reinstate the draft, and other serious measures to win, not to mention raise taxes to pay for that war.
If you haven't noticed the majority of Americans don't want to do that. They are in an isolationist mood both militarily and financially. Obama did and is doing what the majority of Americans want him to do, stop sending troops over there.
Trump is popular because of his talk about these horrible trade deals, which is one reason Sanders is also popular. England just voted to get out and make their own trade deals. That vote would have passed in America also. Build a wall. Isolationist. Has America ever avoided a war because we were isolationists?
So lets get serious. Raise taxes. Reinstate the draft. Build one hundred more war ships. Start executing terrorists and their families. Invade all those countries, install Marshall law, kill their leaders, etc., etc., etc.. And don't forget Russia. Putin will attack us. WW III< which we probably won't survive.

    3. TOM, of course I wouldn’t like it if another country installed one of their puppets as our leader. And I don’t believe we, as America, should be doing it to other countries. I’ve never agreed to that.

Al Qaeda began in 1988. And I do agree about Saddam. He was evil, but at least he was an evil we knew.

We called Hitler a Nazi, which implied he was the enemy. We fought Nazism. Today we are fighting radical jihads. Not Muslims, but radicals who kill in the name of their religion—which they hi-jacked.

No, I don’t want to drop an A bomb. I want to get the heck out of the Middle East and let them do what they will, as long as they leave us the heck out of it. I don’t believe we should be the world’s policeman.

We do need to get serious. I don’t necessarily believe in executing terrorist’s families, but terrorists, absolutely. And I don’t think we need to reinstate the draft. We still have many young men and woman who voluntarily sign up. Bless them. Taxes will need to be raised. When that will happen, I don’t know. But we’ll never get out of debt if we don’t raise taxes and address the out of control entitlements. The question is, WHEN will we get serious?

  2. This is a complex situation, to understand it fully really requires an understanding of British Colonialism and the west's exploitation of the Middle East and Persia. Understanding is the first step to avoid making the same mistake again.

Terrorism is terrorism, but it does have varying driving motivations. The goal is always the same, destruction, creation of fear in those being terrorized, and ultimately gain power and control over the targeted groups. Muslims in the Middle East and Africa are targeted as well, with significantly higher human tolls.

Personally I see no reason mot to acknowledge there exists within Island a radical jihadist element using their religion to further their radical jihadist terrorist ideology. But I see no purpose in demonizing an entire religion (Islam) as many rightwingers do. There are ways to distinguish the evil jihadist terrorists from the majority of people who worship Allah and are as peace loving as and Christian, Jew, Hindi, Buddhist, or Atheist.

    1. RN, it is very complex. My mom taught it for 30+ years. But I can’t pretend to understand it fully.

I don’t think anyone is safe from these radicals. They will perpetrate their destruction wherever they can.

I don’t want to demonize an entire religion, either. We aren’t at war with Muslims, we are at war with radical jihadists. Hopefully we’ll get a handle on it. Too many have died and been hurt. But they are accomplishing their goal—people are afraid.

  3. I think Obama is playing it correct. Just the other day he got almost 250 of the enemy in one attack. But like I said that would bring more attacks from the enemy, and I believe we have seen that also, unfortunately.
When service people are complaining about multiple tours of duty, it's time to give them some help and increase our military numbers.

    1. Tom, I didn't hear about the attack. If that's the case, hooray Obama! I hope it doesn't bring more attacks, but I do think they are coming whether we attack them or not.
And yes, our military people do need some help. They deserve so much more.

  4. Here's a link to that report on the 250 ISIS warriors killed. It also includes a video of the attack.
I'm not surprised you haven't heard about it, the news gave it a short, one day attention. I guess they don't want Obama to look to good. Bravo US servicemen and president Obama.

    1. Tom, it's disheartening our media didn't tout this. It took place after the terrorist attack in Turkey. You'd think the media would want the American people to know our government is doing something!

  5. If you really want to get to the bottom of what Islam is, look up Walid Shoebat and Nonie Darwish. They are former Muslims who tell you how they indoctrinate children early in life to become slaves to Islam.

And I already know what you think of me, so you don't have to repeat yourself, unless you are trying to convince yourself that it's true.

Goodness, it must be hard being so angry all the time.

    1. Luke, it's really sad you have to act this way. We could have a rational conversation if only you'd act like an adult. As it is, I won't be posting anymore of your comments. I can't make heads or tails of what you're talking about, other than your nasty name-calling, and you won't man up and tell me what it is you're referring to.

      Have a nice life.
