Perception Speaks Volumes

I’m a little behind. I suppose if I were any slower I’d be going backwards. Even though the Wanda Sykes’ issue has been talked, blogged and ranted about, I didn’t give MY two cents. And I WANT to. So without further ado…

As just about everyone knows, Wanda Sykes was the comedian for the White House Correspondent’s Dinner May 9th. I’ve seen Wanda on the TV show The New Adventures of Old Christine and thought she was funny. Seeing her at the dinner was my first opportunity to evaluate her stand-up routine. I must admit, I thought a lot of it was witty. She took jabs at Nancy Pelosi, Joe Biden, G.W. Bush, the media, Animal Rights activists, Sean Hannity, and even the First Lady, Michelle Obama.

Wanda made fun of how Michelle hugged and patted the Queen of England and Michelle laughed all in good fun.

Wanda made fun of President Obama, too, “This is amazing. You know. The first black president. I know you’re bi-racial, but the first black president. I mean, it’s proud. I’m proud to be able to say that. You know? That’s unless you screw up. And then it’s gonna be, What’s up with the half white guy, huh? Who voted for the Mulatto? What the hell?’”

THAT was funny, and President Obama laughed-AT HIMSELF; which is what is supposed to happen. A person with a good sense of humor laughs when a decent, witty joke is told. However, when the jesting turns ugly, demeaning in nature or attacks a person’s life, that’s when the line is drawn.

Wanda was downright nasty when she ridiculed Sarah Palin. I’m not going to repeat exactly what she said. You can Google the you-tube video. Sarah Palin wasn’t present and Wanda’s attempt at abstinence shouldn’t have been directed at Sarah. It wasn’t Sarah that had a child out of wedlock; it was Palin’s daughter, Bristol. If Wanda felt the need to bring up illegitimate children and birth control, she should’ve directed it at Bristol. The joke didn’t even bring forth a laugh from the audience. Heck, the crickets weren’t even chirping! Now, I’m not saying not to jest about Sarah Palin. I believe any public figure is fair game. I thought the spoofs about Palin on SNL were funny. What Sykes said at the dinner was NOT in the least bit funny. It was downright crude.

Wanda tried to cover up her gaffe by saying, “Aw, shut up. You’re gonna be tellin’ that one tomorrow, shut up.”

Ah, no, Wanda, I don’t think so; unless you have absolutely NO class.

Then Wanda went on an ugly rant about 9/11 and Rush Limbaugh. “Rush Limbaugh, 'I hope the country fails' -- I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? ... He needs a good waterboarding, that's what he needs."

This brought forth laughter from SOME of the crowd and Barack Obama, the President of the United States of America, joined in on the amusement. The President who campaigned on Hope, Change and Unity was unified with the laughing crowd. The President, who signed an Executive Order to close Guantanamo Bay within a year and stop Enhanced Interrogation of Terrorists because it could be PERCEIVED by other countries and Terrorists as inhumane, laughed with the other inconsiderate audience members. The President, who just returned from a world tour where he wanted to transform the PERCEPTION of America to those abroad from hostile to supportive, smiled a wide toothed grin with other insensitive members of the crowd. Yes, the President of the United States wants other countries and their leaders, like Hugo Chavez and the Castro Brothers to PERCEIVE the United States as a Country of humanity, civility and honor and is concerned with how other countries PERCEIVE him and the United States but could care less that AMERICANS see him chuckling when a comedian wishes death to one of his OWN citizens.

I’m quite bewildered. An honorable man would care MORE about his OWN people than that of other countries. A man with integrity would NOT have laughed, chuckled, smiled or grinned when someone made a joke about the death or demise of a fellow American, even if that American didn’t agree with his policies. An honorable man would’ve sat there with NO expression.

Wanda is NOT someone that Obama has to impress. Nor is she someone who will enhance Obama’s political career or agenda. But how Obama responds to her shenanigans reflects on him as a person. And in my opinion, laughing at the demise of a fellow human being shows ME a very weak person indeed. I would NEVER laugh at a joke that wished a person dead. Obama can hide behind his rhetoric of torture is inhumane and health care for everyone because I care so much; but actions speak volumes.

A LEADER would’ve sat there STONED FACED because it’s INSENSITIVE to wish a hellish demise to a fellow human being. A man that stands on a pulpit and preaches that waterboarding is inhumane, which doesn’t do bodily harm as some doctors have attested to, would NOT have cracked a grin at wishing a fellow human being the painful, torturous death of kidney failure. A LEADER would’ve SHOWN by example that that type of callous, disgusting humor won’t be tolerated. The man that ran a campaign on unity could’ve made a stand on May 9th. He could’ve proved to the United States that he was a man of integrity; but instead he ran with the crowd when his laughter filled the room…and that tells me more than any speech on a teleprompter ever could.

OTO - Obama Television Overload

I don’t know about anyone else; but I’m suffering from Obama Television Overload. I mean, really, what’s up with his face plastered all over the tube every week? Is it really necessary? I understand his weekly radio addresses and the whole YouTube thing. But enough is enough already. Just last week he was on 60 Minutes AND Jay Leno.

There was nothing new this evening. All I got from tonight’s press conference was repetitive rhetoric that made me yawn. Invest in education, energy and health care. He inherited this financial crisis, blah, blah. If he had said something about having hired a new staff for Geithner, maybe I wouldn’t have been so bored.

The President DOES need to give press conferences, I appreciate that. However, I believe Obama is over doing it. He needs to back off a bit and make more time for the Oval Office. Nevertheless, WHY is he doing so many television appearances?

Is he an ego maniac that enjoys time in the limelight? Does he have some hidden agenda, the more you see him the more you’ll like him? Or maybe it’s something really simple. Obama’s inexperienced; therefore he doesn’t know what to do as a president; so he reads from his teleprompter because that’s his comfort zone.

In my opinion, I think Obama is trying to distract the American people from the AIG mess. By going on 60 Minutes and Jay Leno, then having a press conference not even a week later, he can distract the public from what’s really going on. Or at least he’s HOPING he will distract them. He also has a high approval rating and if he keeps his face on television he may keep that rating up. Kind of like a subliminal message.

Obama Administration is full of Cowards

In a speech to the Justice Department employees marking Black History Month, Attorney General Eric Holder described the US as a nation of cowards on race relations. He said that most Americans avoided talking about racial issues and that although strides have been made in integrating the workplace, America was still self-segregated on weekends and in their private lives.

Nice statement from the first African-American Attorney General who was appointed by the first African-American President, don’t ya think?

And now another alarming statement from the Justice Department. Except it has to do with Terrorists this time. We aren’t allowed to call them Enemy Combatants anymore.

What are we allowed to call them then? Well, we don’t know. Seems no one in the brilliant Obama Administration knows much of anything. They put the cart before the horse…AGAIN.

The Obama Administration is going to close Guantanamo Bay within a year; however, they have no clue where the detainees are going to go from there. We aren’t allowed to call the terrorists, who want us DEAD, Enemy Combatants anymore; and there’s no announcement from the brilliant Obama team as to what their new title will be.

But rest assured Attorney General Eric Holder is on the case! In his statement to the court outlining Obama’s efforts to close Guantanamo Bay within a year, Holder stated that promptly determining the appropriate disposition of those detained at Guantanamo was a high priority for the president and there could be further refinements as the process continues. Phew! I’m relieved! I’m so glad it’s such a high priority that Obama signed the executive order to close Guantanamo BEFORE he knew where to put the MURDERERS. I’m so relieved to know that the process will be refined as they move along. Maybe these geniuses should’ve REFINED the process BEFORE signing the order.

Then we have Elisa Massimino, Ceo and Executive Director of Human Rights First, who is just thrilled over the news. She tried urging the Bush Administration to use kid gloves on ENEMY COMBATANTS and now states that she’s hopeful this administration will use this opportunity to narrow the authority and make a clean break from the policies from the past. Yes, Elisa, it was so bad during the Bush Administration. We were SAFE from ENEMY COMBATANTS for 7 ½ years. What are you going to do WHEN we are attacked AGAIN? How is it going to be printed in the news?

MEN BLOW UP CITY KILLING THOUSANDS OF AMERICANS.
Yeah, that’s right, we can’t call them terrorists, Muslims, enemy combatants, radical Islamics or anything else that will stereotype or might hurt their feelings or cause discomfort. After all, they only want us D E A D!

These MURDERING ENEMY COMBATANTS don’t deserve human rights, civil rights and definitely not constitutional rights, hence Guantanamo Bay, you moron!

If anyone is cowardly, it’s the Obama Administration. From Janet Napolitano to Eric Holder to organizations like Elisa Massimino’s to Obama himself. This Administration believes Terrorists should have civil, human, constitutional and every other right under the sun. But to hell with the rights of those that lost their lives on September 11, 2001. To hell with the families who mourn those lives every single day. And to hell with the safety of the American people. When America is attacked again, and trust me I’m NOT hoping it is; but I believe it’s inevitable with this incompetent administration. And when it is I think EVERYONE of them should be brought up on treason.

Nancy Pelosi call your Plastic Surgeon-ASAP!

Last night during Obama’s Address to Congress, I was fearful Pelosi’s smile was surgically enhanced to stay that way-FOREVER. I don’t think I EVER saw her smile as much as I did last night. She’s always reminded me of the Cheshire Cat, especially when she wears purple, and she wears purple a lot. That grin of hers just keeps giving. I wonder: when she left the Chamber, was her smile still hanging around her throne chair. She needs to call her Plastic Surgeon and have an immediate check up. What if that awful Cheshire grin is permanent and every time we see her she’s got that “cat that ate the canary” grin? I realize she’s ecstatic because her Pork Package has been passed into law and now she has a new Puppet President; but she could try some measure of decorum. She's the Speaker of the House for crying out loud. Oh my, I’m asking a Democrat to understand the meaning of respectability. Now I sound nuts. Forgive me, dear readers, I watched Obama’s speech, I guess I haven’t fully recovered.

Obama’s Weekly Radio Address to Justify Socialism

Obama gave his weekly radio address Saturday. He bragged about how he and Congress signed “the most sweeping economic recovery plan in history.” Sweeping is absolutely correct. He’s going to sweep small businesses into non existence and the American working class right into the unemployment line.

Obama practically bragged that because of what “they did”, companies, large and small can now apply for tax credits and FIND ways to grow, instead of laying people off. I’d like to know how companies are going to FIND these so-called tax credits to help them NOT lay off workers when Obama now intends to RAISE taxes on businesses so that he can cut the deficit. A deficit that he just added a trillion dollars to and is going to add about another trillion by bailing out banks with bad mortgages. He also said because of what “they did” families can now afford to weatherize their homes and millions can send their children to college; because it’s more affordable this week than it was last week.

I have to try to wrap my mind around that. Just last week those families had no money. Heck, millions of families had their kid’s college tuitions tied up in the stock market, which by the way is going to take a major hit with this news. The wealthy and the businesses aren’t going to take Obama’s announcement of higher taxes for THEM sitting down. And who can blame them? So, exactly how are average families going to afford college this week? How is it all of a sudden affordable this week as opposed to last week? How is it magically affordable for millions of families to weatherize their homes? Even with hundreds of millions of dollars from this so-called stimulus bill, the average working class isn’t going to see one penny to “weatherize” their homes. Many aren’t working therefore CAN'T afford to weatherize their homes, apply for a new mortgage or take advantage of the credits offered to purchase a new automobile, let alone send their kids to college. However, there is something in this Socialist Spending Spree for minorities. This package includes all kinds of goodies for those that don’t want to work, can’t afford mortgages and want entitlements.

Oh wait, I stand corrected! Because of what “they did” 95% of all working families, and keep in mind there is a 7.5% and rising unemployment rate, will get a tax cut of… wait are you ready…$65 a month! Yep, that’s right folks. Don’t you run out to the mall all together now, it could cause a traffic jam. Obama ORDERED the treasury department to reduce the amount of taxes withheld from paychecks beginning April 1st. Boy is that an April Fool’s joke if I ever heard one. And the joke’s on us. Obama boasted, “Never before in our history has a tax cut taken effect faster or gone to so many hardworking Americans.” Of course it’s fast, because it’s so gosh darn small and how damn hard is it to tell companies that do payroll to change their tax rate? Not hard; it’s all done by a computer program.

This is just phase one of Obama’s big plan. Phase 2- coming to a neighborhood near you is the “Stabilizing and Repairing our Banking System” Program. Obama wants to get credit flowing again to families and businesses. DUH. It doesn’t takes a rocket scientist to know that this has been the problem all along. This was supposed to have happened with the first bailout last year. I’d still like to know what happened to THAT money! Why hasn’t Obama or anyone in Congress tried to find THAT paper trail? And Obama has the audacity to speak about “fiscal discipline.” What fiscal discipline? He just spent a trillion dollars and is in process of spending another trillion on bailing out banks who lent to deadbeats. Does that sound like a fiscally responsible person to you? But hey, let’s just give these banks another trillion dollars because the first $700 million wasn’t enough and heck, we have no idea where it went anyway. After all, it’s only money…

Obama went on to say, “We can’t solve our housing crisis unless we help people find work so that they can make payments on their homes. We can’t produce shared prosperity without firm rules of the road, and we can’t generate sustained growth without getting our deficits under control.”

Since when does government help FIND work for its citizens? Since when does government produce prosperity? Since when does a Capitalistic government share prosperity? These are issues that the people of American do, and they do it quite well WHEN GOVERNMENT STAYS THE HELL OUT OF THE WAY. Obama wants TOTAL government involvement. He wants to be the Puppet Master and We the People his puppets. He’s pulling the strings to Socialism. It’s time we cut those strings. It’s time we pulled OUR country back from Obama and his Socialistic ideals and Marxist views. We the People are being violated and We the People need to stop this before it’s too late.

Obama’s Socialistic Spending Spree

What’s the speedy-quick hurry to sign the largest Governmental spending package in the history of our Nation? Why couldn’t our Congress and Senate have the proper time to read this thousand page, 800 trillion dollar spending spree? Why did taxpayers foot the tab to fly Ohio Senator Sherrod Brown back to Washington from his mother’s funeral to sign this bill? And most importantly, why did all this happen 3 ½ weeks after Obama took the Oath of Office?

My guess is this so-called stimulus bill isn’t a stimulus bill at all, as Obama and Pelosi would like us to believe; but an avenue to transform our Capitalistic Country into a Socialistic one using our current economic crisis as a foot stool.

When a President uses phrases such as:

“Only Government can fix what ails us.”
“Only Government can preserve jobs.”
“Government is the only solution.”
And “I’ve won.” As he told House Republicans after listening to and ignoring their concerns regarding the stimulus plan; you have a President that’s more concerned with power than with the very people he’s supposed to represent and protect.

When a President says he’s going to “Use this crisis to transform our country” there is reason to be very, very frightened. Because he means transformation from freedom to chains.

Obama said, referring to the spending bill, “It's not just another public works program.” and “That's why the overwhelming majority of the jobs created will be in the private sector.” Pelosi said, “This package can be summed up in one word. Jobs.”

I’d like to sum up one item in this Pelosi Pork Package. You be the judge as to whether the overwhelming majority of the jobs created will be in the private sector and if it will create JOBS.

Take a look at the Department of Energy for 18.5 billion dollars:

2 billion dollars are for expenses to develop technologies; 500 million dollars are for expenses to implement the program; 1 billion dollars are for grants to Institutional Entities for sustainability and efficiency; 6.2 billion dollars are for weatherization assistance programs; 3.5 billion dollars are for energy efficiency and conservation block grants for implementation of the program; 3.4 billion dollars are for state energy programs authorized under the energy policy & conservation act; 200 million dollars are for the expenses necessary to implement the programs under section 124; 300 million dollars are for expenses under section 124 of the energy policy act of 2005; 400 million dollars are for expenses under section 721; and 1 billion dollars are for expenses under section 135(b)(B)(1).

Out of that 18.5 billion dollars, 4.4 billion dollars are for EXPENSES! Where in this bill is the opportunity for private sector jobs? Especially when the bill specifically states:

Secretary of Energy may, upon determination that there is a severe shortage of candidates or a critical hiring need for particular positions, recruit and directly appoint highly qualified individuals into the competitive service.

So, if I’m reading this correctly, people will get jobs IF the Secretary of Energy DETERMINES there is a shortage of people at the Department of Energy. Once the Secretary of Energy determines there is a shortage, the Secretary of Energy then has the ability to RECRUIT or DIRECTLY APPOINT HIGHLY QUALIFIED individuals for this competitive service. How many people in the private sector are HIGHLY QUALIFIED to work at the Department of Energy?

That little paragraph puts a huge wrench into Obama and Pelosi’s private sector job creation program, don’t you think? What other paragraphs are hidden within this enormous bill that allow Secretaries, Senators, Inspector Generals and other people, who owe this administration an arm and a leg, the power to APPOINT whomever THEY deem necessary and overlook the private sector altogether? It’s no wonder Obama, Pelosi and their comrades want it signed, sealed and delivered by President’s Day.

Once this Socialistic Shackle Plan is signed, there’s no going back. We the People are stuck with the spending, the interest and the largest government in American History. The Left was in an uproar over the PATRIOT Act. But this government intervention is A-OK, right? Not a peep from the Left on this gigantic government encroachment.

Obama preached Change. Well we’re getting it! Get ready for the government to be next to you at your dinner table, holding your kid’s hand at school, sitting with you and your doctor and lying next to you in bed at night. And it’s all coming with one big Trillion Dollar Price Tag.

Obama Stimulus Plan is Shackles in Disguise

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act is a fancy name for Obama and the Democrats’ laundry list of social entitlements. This bill is filled with so many liberal agendas hidden in over 700 pages of complex autocratic words, it’s no wonder the average American doesn’t know how dangerous it is. I’d be surprised if even half of Congress and the Senate really understand it. There is NO WAY this bill was recently written. Pelosi and her comrades had these social items written a long time ago and she was just waiting until she could ram them down our throats.

If you read the condensed version, written by the House Appropriations Committee, it doesn’t sound so bad. A list of departments and what they’ll cost. To the untrained eye, and well… brain, it looks like it could stimulate…something. But that something sure as heck isn’t the economy.

There’s 1 billion dollars for the Bureau of the Census. There's also 890 million for the Social Security Administration. What’s the problem with the two of those? Three million dollars from the SSA is designated to fund a Census to report on the impact of past and future minimum wage increases in American Somoa and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. Besides not needing a billion dollars in censuses in an economic crisis, does anyone besides me see a problem with taking 3 million dollars from SSA to fund a census?

I’m also a bit curious as to why it matters what the impact of minimum wage is on 2 Pacific Ocean Islands whose gross populations equal less than 150K? We’re going to waste 3 million dollars to see how minimum wage affects theses islands WHY? One Island only has a land area of 77 sq miles. It’s not like we’re going to build a bunch of island businesses and send tens of thousand of Americans there for jobs!

That’s just ONE small tidbit hidden in this Debit Package that Obama wants to sink us with. It’s debt that our great-grandchildren will be paying for. This PELOSI PORK PACKAGE will NOT create jobs in the private sector, it will NOT spur the economy and it will NOT stimulate anything except more government, more entitlement programs and eventually higher taxes, interest rates and inflation.

Obama said he inherited a trillion dollar defecit. What’s his cure? Increase it by another trillion. Then allow Turbo Tim to increase it by another trillion or two. These clowns are out of hand. We The People need to get OUR Country back from these CROOKS. They are stealing our children and grand-children’s futures. Obama’s mind-set that “Government is the only solution” has to be stopped. With an attitude like that we are in for more spending and a government so large we’ll be shackled to them forever. Obama, Pelosi and their team of Left-Winged-Wack-Jobs are using this Debt Package to enslave us and future generations of Americans for years to come.

Obama’s 1st Order of Business-Kill Babies

America is in debt by the trillions and yet Obama has signed an executive order to send money to other countries to fund abortions.

Now, wait. Let me get this straight in my head.

We have NO MONEY. Supposedly we have 47 million people in America that don’t have health insurance and we are OUT OF MONEY, yet we’re sending money WE DON’T HAVE to other countries to pay for abortions. This is Obama’s first order of business, besides closing Gitmo; but I will get to that in another blog. I have a problem with this primary order of duty in Obama’s first week of presidency. Our country is in a major financial crisis; we’re in 2 wars; Israel and Palestine are bombing one another; our unemployment rate is skyrocketing; banks need more money; car companies and cities need bailouts and Obama thinks it’s more important to kill babies. Do I need to drink the Kool-Aid to understand his rationale? How in the hell is funding abortions in other countries with money we don’t possess imperative? Okay, let’s say for some idiotic reason that this helps make us look good in the global scheme of things-which by the way shouldn’t matter. Let’s say hypothetically that other countries all hail the great United States for sending them money for abortions. Is funding abortions something we should be worried about right now? I mean isn’t the United States’ current economical situation more important than another county’s population control problem? The Left bashed Bush for funding a war in Iraq that helps save innocent lives and frees people. But it’s okay to fund countries to kill babies? Somehow I’m having a problem with the logic. Even drinking the Kool-Aid, I think anyone would have trouble justifying that logic. Except the Left. They can skew their logic so that it fits their agenda. And their agenda is to grow bigger government and they want the rest of the world along for the ride.

A Sad Day

Today George W. Bush will leave the White House and Barack Obama will move in and take over the awesome responsibility of running our Country. Forgive me, I’m not happy, over zealous or even proud. Quite frankly, I’m scared out of my mind.

For over 7 years GW has kept this country safe. We Americans have no idea how many terrorist attacks his anti-terror tactics have thwarted. But we should be grateful. Also during Bush’s presidency we experienced 8 years of low interest rates, inflation and unemployment. Gas prices were high, which happened only after the Dems took control of Congress. And they thwarted all attempts to drill here, drill now, which would have lowered gas prices. Yes, we are in a major financial crisis now, but only after the October surprise. I’m not a conspiracist, but I’m convinced this economic melt down was contrived.

Today Obama will be sworn in and we will be FORCED to take on his radical ideologies. He believes that the way out of this economic crisis is to spend more money. I learned a long time ago that one doesn’t get out of debt by borrowing money. He’s going to send the American people between $500 and $1,000 to stimulate the economy. Pahleeze! The last 3 so-called tax rebate checks didn’t stimulate anything, what makes Obama think it’s going to work this time with a 7.2% unemployment rate? People are going to save their money just in case they need it. His mentality that Government is the only entity that can fix this problem is extremely frightening. Government is the only entity that can screw up a one man parade! His stimulus plan of 800 billion dollars includes building roads and giving aid to cities. What happens when that money is gone? The roads stop being paved and whatever city projects were working will come to a halt. His stimulus package is spending and once the money runs out, so does the stimulus. Again, I’m not an economic genius but it only makes sense to put money into the pockets of people who can create and keep jobs running, like, um, BUSINESS OWNERS.

If you cut taxes and business owners know they will have X number of dollars every month they will hire employees and those employees will produce labor and that labor will stimulate the economy. Why is this so difficult to understand? Oh, wait, I know. Obama and his Demorats buddies WANT bigger government. And what better way than to CONVINCE the American people that we need a SPENDING PACKAGE! This is a dream come true for the Democrats.

I sit here today feeling no real pride or optimism. All the money Obama wants to SPEND to STIMULATE the economy will have to be paid back some day. And the truly sad truth is the spending won’t work. Inflation could hit double digits. Didn’t the FDR administration teach us anything? Is Obama trying to outspend FDR? Because maybe if FDR had spent a trillion dollars it would’ve worked.

I still believe that the banks need to use their bailout money and start lending and we need tax cuts, then we would see some movement in the economy. But that’s just me. Until then I think we’re in for a long ride. And I fully intend to hoard my money. I know that’s probably not the American thing to do, but I have a family to think about and I’m going to stimulate MY bank balance. If I don’t worry about my family who else will? The government? Sorry, I have no faith in government or the new president.

So, forgive me my bleakness. Maybe after January 20th I’ll have something positive to say. Maybe this spending package will work. Maybe the 52% that voted for Obama will be enough to stimulate the economy. Maybe, just maybe, people will begin spending again--even without jobs.

So, with the theme of Hope---I hope I can blog soon that I was so very wrong and that Obama is a genius and the greatest president ever. I want to say I’m wrong. Please let me be wrong.

Super Tuesday

Well, for many states, Pennsylvania not being one of them, it's Super Tuesday. We don’t have our primary until April. It’s raining here in Pennsylvania, hope that’s not a foreshadow of the election outcome.

I’m voting for Romney, when it’s my turn to vote. I’m a Conservative, if you couldn’t tell by any of my previous posts. I’m a red girl living in a blue state.

Anyway, I’m going to cast a prediction here on this blog. I think Obama will win the Democratic nomination today and I’m HOPING Romney wins the Republican nomination. Although, I’d take McCain over Obama, but I’d take Obama over Hillary. What a mess.

I’d like to wipe the entire slate clean and start over.
