I’ve decided to address a problem that we, as a country, have had to deal with and a reader of mine brought up recently. You can read his comment here. I felt this topic needed a post all its own. I believe we’ve dealt with this situation a lot in the last 8 years and with the election of Barack Obama, it hasn’t dissipated like a lot of people HOPED it would. The era of being united has yet to be. At least I don’t see it, and my reader Octo doesn’t see it, either.
The Ubers are still out there. Who are the Ubers you ask? They are the crazies, the loons, the moon-bats, the wackos on the Left and Right. You’ve heard of them. They chain themselves to trees to save the tree. Or they kill the abortion doctor to save the baby. They don’t have rationale that WE normal people can comprehend. Their minds are virtually twisted.
For 8 years the Ubers on the Left have HATED Bush. They’ve wanted him DEAD, literally. Their hatred then spilled over to ANYONE who supported Bush or even remotely liked Bush or anyone associated with Bush. They HATE Bush today and will ALWAYS HATE Bush. Nothing short of a miracle will stop this blind hatred.
Now we have the Uber Right who HATE Obama. They want him DEAD, literally. Their hatred spills over to ANYONE who supports Obama or even remotely likes Obama. They are attacking people, like Octo, because Octo voted for Obama. They are blinded by their hatred and nothing short of a miracle will stop this hatred.
I’m respectful of EVRYONE and EVERY viewpoint; EXCEPT the Uber’s; because the Uber’s are illogical. Their views are irrational. However, you can’t argue with an Uber. The best course of action is to walk away because you won’t win an argument with an Uber. But how does one handle death threats from an Uber, as my reader has experienced?
I believe my reader did the right thing by calling the police. However, the authorities can only do so much. Unfortunately the Ubers are so twisted they don’t even realize when they’re breaking the law. They believe their cause is above the law. What then? Does one take the law into one’s own hands?
Are we supposed to suppress our voice because of the Ubers? I don’t think so. I believe we have to be true to ourselves. We have to value our principles and our values. We normal people on the Left and Right outnumber the Ubers by far. We have to make OUR stand and fight the good fight.
Our Eagle needs both wings to fly. So, don’t stifle yourself because of some Uber or something on some neglectful news station. Know your heart. Know IN your heart what you stand for. KNOW your values and principles and stand by them. I believe that as long as you’re true to yourself and you have respect, not just of yourself, but of others you will convey a commanding presence. Be powerful …be yourself. After that, what will be, will be.

Coffee, Tea, Vote for Me or NOT
Yesterday thousands of Americans gathered all over the country for Tea Parties to protest our Government. Yesterday was also the dreaded Tax Day; however, the Tea Parties weren’t just about taxes. Americans protested about many things. Taxes, large government, the stimulus bill, the cuts in defense spending, pork barrel spending, the deficit, entitlements, bailouts and the list goes on depending on whom you talk to.
The Tea Parties were organized by individuals all over the country. Those individuals started a movement. A small flame was lit and is now burning brightly in the hearts of Americans all across our nation. We are tired of our government officials turning a deaf ear; we are sick of our officials taking advantage of us; we needed to send a message that we aren’t going to sit back anymore and allow our officials to do whatever they want and get away with it. Our Congressmen and women and Senators have become complacent and need to know that we Americans are through with their reckless spending, taxation, lies and deceit. The Tea Parties are just the beginning of our proclamation. We will end it in the voting booths in 2010 and 2012.
There were almost 700 rallies all over our nation and those who gathered weren’t concerned with age or political affiliation. They only cared that each person was an American and was frustrated, angry and disenfranchised. They joined together as Americans should. They were UNIFIED and on a mission. They united together and accomplished their mission-TELL CAPITOL HILL TO STOP, LOOK AND LISTEN TO THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA.
The MSM has spun these Tea Parties as something completely different. We’ve been called Extremists or Violent Revolutionaries that want to overthrow the government. It’s been slanted that we’re crazy-right-wing-nuts who don’t want to pay taxes or something TOTALLY false like that. Goodness forbid if the MSM would tell the truth. Does the MSM even know the meaning of the word?
Americans know taxes are necessary. We know we need government. It’s the reckless spending; the tax cheats in office; the total disregard for the people of America that has us angry. Anyone with any sense would see that. But you’ll have those who will spin this to make it look like we’re crazy moon bats. Oh well, it is what it is. I KNOW THE TRUTH. I know my heart, my values and my principles. I know that I am patriotic and I pay my taxes and will continue to do so. However, I REFUSE to allow anymore corrupt politicians to take our Constitution and Country hostage. If this makes me loony, well, then I’m a loon. And until Congress listens, these Tea Parties will continue. Until Congress realizes they work for US, they will be voted out of office and replaced with someone who will work for us.
The Tea Parties are our constitutional right; because We the People have the right to assemble and speak out against our government. And we absolutely have the right to do so in a peaceful manner; which is EXACTLY what tens of thousand of Americans did yesterday. What was once a dreaded day for many can now be viewed as a day when America united.
This is a grassroots movement that will continue. So beware Congress. Not of guns and violence; but of We the People. We are taking our Country back.

Bi-Partisanship101

Lately I’ve been so frustrated. Forget the bailouts, the deficit, the economy and other major issues that plague us. I’m talking about all the finger-pointing that’s going on. The Republicans blame the Democrats for THIS. The Democrats blame the Republicans for THAT. The Left accuses the Right; the Right accuses the Left. The media omits an important part of a clip to manipulate the story for the benefit of THEIR side. If I hear one more time about inheriting a deficit or how more money has been spent with this administration than with all the presidents combined, I think I’ll spit…and trust me, I despise spitting.
I would like…no…exalt BOTH sides if they would get along and accomplish something! Just ONE thing. Is that so much to ask? Is it so much to request that our Congressmen and women and our Senators come together as a team and solve ONE problem? Resolve a problem WITHOUT acting like a bunch of little kids pushing and shoving on a playground. As it stands, when someone gets a black eye, everyone starts yakking at the same time blaming and pointing fingers at everyone else. It’s just so immature. These people are adults, for crying out loud! I feel, at the very least, I should put every one of them in a time out until they learn to play nice. But what I’d really like to do is give each of them a swat on their rear ends!
My fantasy of punishing those on Capitol Hill will stay a desire until we can obtain vengeance on Election Day. Or I have another proposition. I think the American people are more mature, have better ideas and can be more bipartisan than those in Congress. I would like to pick a topic and have us discuss it in a mature manner. I have faith that we Conservatives and Liberals can come up with some really good ideas and possibly a solution to some of the problems that plague our nation. These solutions may never go anywhere other than this blog; but it may make us feel better. At the very least it will prove to me that there is such a thing as Conservatives and Liberals working together toward a common goal.
Our first topic is going to be Health Care. This, as we all know, is a major concern for Americans and our country. Our debate goal will be to resolve the Health Care conundrum. We definitely NEED Health Care reform. I don’t think there is a person out there that will argue with me on that. I’ll post my ideas in the comment section and I look forward to hearing from all of you.

OTO - Obama Television Overload
I don’t know about anyone else; but I’m suffering from Obama Television Overload. I mean, really, what’s up with his face plastered all over the tube every week? Is it really necessary? I understand his weekly radio addresses and the whole YouTube thing. But enough is enough already. Just last week he was on 60 Minutes AND Jay Leno.
There was nothing new this evening. All I got from tonight’s press conference was repetitive rhetoric that made me yawn. Invest in education, energy and health care. He inherited this financial crisis, blah, blah. If he had said something about having hired a new staff for Geithner, maybe I wouldn’t have been so bored.
The President DOES need to give press conferences, I appreciate that. However, I believe Obama is over doing it. He needs to back off a bit and make more time for the Oval Office. Nevertheless, WHY is he doing so many television appearances?
Is he an ego maniac that enjoys time in the limelight? Does he have some hidden agenda, the more you see him the more you’ll like him? Or maybe it’s something really simple. Obama’s inexperienced; therefore he doesn’t know what to do as a president; so he reads from his teleprompter because that’s his comfort zone.
In my opinion, I think Obama is trying to distract the American people from the AIG mess. By going on 60 Minutes and Jay Leno, then having a press conference not even a week later, he can distract the public from what’s really going on. Or at least he’s HOPING he will distract them. He also has a high approval rating and if he keeps his face on television he may keep that rating up. Kind of like a subliminal message.
I’m curious to hear your opinions. So, please leave comments. As some of you know, we have a few Liberals visiting now. I think this will lead to some interesting debates. Just remember to be respectful to one another.
