Nothing Like a Dose of Liar Cheat & Thief to Get Me Back on the Political Track

As many of you know, I’ve been on a little hiatus from politics, and for you newcomers, you can catch up here. You also know that I’m a strong voice for ethics, good character, and just plain old honesty.

So, imagine my surprise when I turned on Bill O’Reilly, whom I haven’t seen in well over two months, and there smack dab in the middle of my TV screen was none other than Charlie Rangel, and listed beneath his name was Congressman (D-NY)!

I sat there, my mouth agape, staring at the television, for ten minutes, as Bill O’Reilly didn’t just interview Rangel, but actually argued with him! Yes, he WASTED time arguing with a convicted CHEAT, who STILL holds public office!

Now, you might ask, why am I upset about this? Well, because it’s bad enough that our Treasury Secretary is a tax CHEAT and signs our money—even if it isn’t worth much these days. And now to have the Tax Ways and Means Committee Chairman found GUILTY on 12/13 counts of ethics VIOLATIONS and be censured (oh the horror—slap his hands!) but NOT be removed from office just.blows.my.mind!

America is on the edge of a cliff. Energy, food and inflation are skyrocketing, but housing prices and paychecks are dropping like rocks. People are NOT finding jobs, regardless of what the reports tell us—they are skewed. Another housing bubble is about to burst. We're in major debt and can’t afford our current level of government and the programs anymore and we NEED to cut! Our Representatives are bickering on the Hill about compromise because none of them want to let go of a pet project to save a buck and we’re told yet again an apocalyptic our world as we know it will end if the government shuts down (fear mongering anyone?).

Shut it down and clean it out! Because there is no question in my mind as to why our country is a complete and utter disaster. We elected liars, cheats and thieves who are more concerned with their seat than our country and the welfare of her people. They won’t close down departments that aren’t performing or are duplicates—they have too much at stake. Too many pockets have been lined AND a straight line points directly to those who have turned a blind eye and participated in the corruption that has been going on decade after decade. Let’s face it, we have career politicians, not public servants, and they have a lot to lose.

I’m angry. I’m REALLY angry. I’m tired of reading blog after blog after blog about how it’s ALL the Republican’s fault. How the Tea Party is racist. And how those on the Right are just a bunch of evil-racist-fear-mongering-violent-inducing-callous-well-to-dos who want to displace the poor, kill women and starve Granny.

It’s TIME to face some facts people. America is in trouble and it’s EVERYONE’S fault. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Conservatives, Liberals and even those who aren’t registered to vote! I’ve got news for you, I’m not a racist but I’m sick to death of hearing that because I want LEGAL immigration I am. And darn it, I don’t have to explain or defend my position— IT’S THE LAW!

But the laws and regulations, something those career politicians love to pass, are the very things they love to evade! Yet, they expect us to follow them, unless we fit into their agenda, then we don’t have to. This country is a mess because we have permitted it to get this way. We have allowed it to get hijacked by immoral politicians who think they are above the laws they create and we—WE let them! Oh, we talk BIG talk. But every election, we go into the election booth and REELECT someone like Charlie Rangel! Then we ask why our country is a mess. I don’t have to ask. I know the answer. We’re lazy. We want instant gratification. We want CHANGE! Oh that was a good slogan, I must admit. And we got it too.

Banks, mortgage and car companies and even student loans are owned by the Feds. We’re printing money as if the paper it’s printed on is actually worth something, yet people are going about their daily lives as if it’s no big deal. It’s okay that we’re buried alive under trillions upon trillions of national and public debt and even if we DID confiscate all the wealth from those evil rich people, we still couldn’t pay off our INTEREST!

I’m also tired. Tired of hearing how the people who are wealthy are somehow evil. Evil because they are wealthy and have money and those who don’t should reap the rewards off the backs of those who do. That is a crock and I’m not going to pretend that it makes sense, because to me, it doesn’t. There is no way you can justly confiscate someone else’s wealth and give it to... some else. Our oh so benevolent government does NOT work that way.

They invent some fancy named program where they allege they will help people. But this new program will hemorrhage money through theft and dereliction because a fox is watching the hen house. Or to put it in much simpler terms, you can’t make poor people rich by making rich people poor. Period.

My tangent boils down to us again, the American people, waking up and joining together as AMERICANS. As I’ve said before, it’s us vs. them. I don’t know how much more clear I can be. It’s pretty darn obvious there's a problem when you have the media focused on Donald Trump and Obama’s birth certificate and Glenn Beck leaving Fox News—REALLY? THAT’S important? America’s ready to implode and we’re worried about Trump investigating Obama’s birth certificate in Hawaii. Rejoicing that Beck is leaving TV. Yet we can’t pay China! We’re in yet another war that we can’t afford! People are losing their homes and can’t buy a gallon of milk!

Oh.my.gosh.

When our country is on the verge of collapse and people are vigorously tapping away about inconsequential things like Glenn Beck—and NO, I really don’t want to hear how dangerous he is. Want to talk dangerous, let’s talk about our open borders; or how we don’t drill for oil here in our OWN country where it’s plentiful, because we BORROW money from one country so we can purchase it from yet another country that HATES us and wants us DEAD; or how we look evil straight in the eye but yet don't call it what it is, while we sit across from it, without preconditions, and permit it to develop nuclear weapons.

Let’s GET SERIOUS. And if you don’t think it’s THAT serious, then your head has been in the sand longer than mine--and mine was only in the sand for the last month!

Calling Out Unethical Bloggers!

I feel it’s important to conduct oneself in an honorable manner on the internet and I’ve behaved properly since my first social networking gig, which was MySpace back in the day. When I decided to begin blogging I knew I would continue my good behavior not only because I wanted to maintain my respectable on-line reputation but also because I didn’t want anyone I knew to read something unsavory written by me. I can say with confidence that after 3 years of blogging I have maintained my respectable behavior and will continue to do so.

I’m not proud of some bloggers who actively and knowingly tried to censor other blogs. You can read the story here. I’m a firm believer in our 1st Amendment and I’m ashamed that Conservatives have been named in this Digg scandal. It makes those of us who are respectable and noble look bad. I would like to go on record right now by saying that I denounce anyone, Right or Left, who engages in sleazy behavior. I also oppose bloggers here in our community who pose as Conservatives to disrupt dialogue and cause trouble and those who blog with an explicit agenda, like those on Digg, and will turn on you for being an independent thinker.

I and a few other Bloggers have had run-ins with Conservative-blogger-posers. They would come on our blogs and give us trouble because we conversed with Liberal Bloggers and visited Liberal Blogs and when we didn’t concede they called us names, blogged unfavorably about us and when those tactics didn’t work, they banned us. In one week’s time I lost 60 followers. I thought that was really odd, but now that I know that these blogs are actually owned by a handful of people it explains why most of them haven’t been posted on in almost a year and why at least 30 of them have celebrity photos or pictures from over-seas advertising sites as their profile photos. I understand some people don’t wish to use their real picture on the internet therefore they use a photo of a pet or a cartoonish-type picture or even an avatar, but when a person uses a picture from an advertising site and allows commenters to assume it’s him/her—that’s deceitful and these Blogger-posers have done just that.

These bloggers have set up fake blogs and have gone as far as stealing the photos of REAL people for their profile page. Yes, they steal photos of real people from Facebook and other social network sites. This is a problem because these fake blogs have ideas and opinions posted all over them that DON’T match the opinions of the identities that the bloggers stole. This is IDENTITY THEFT and not only is it illegal but it’s also reprehensible. These bloggers also plagiarize by copying/pasting comments written by others onto their fake blogs but give no attribution to the original writer. They do this with comments also. Anyone participating in any of these behaviors should be ashamed of him/herself! And any blog that has been set up or used in a deceitful manner should SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY.

There is nothing worse than a person who has no integrity or honor and would stoop so low as to steal something—especially an identity. Even if some of these followers are real, I find it difficult to believe they would want to follow a fraud, a liar and a thief, therefore they must be one in the same person, OR these people have no character either. And if that’s the case then I wouldn’t want them to read my blog let alone follow it—I would much rather have a handful of loyal, honorable followers than a hundred dishonest ones!

A blog, to me, should be informative, or at the very least, entertaining. The cookie cutter blogs with authors who rant and rave are a dime a dozen. I can turn on my radio to hear the “talking points”; I certainly don’t want to read them on blogs, too. Give me some substance. But substance is what these posers are sorely lacking because they lack moral character! (Not to mention English and Grammar skills!)

It’s too bad we can’t send them all into cyber-space… for real! The only thing we can do, fellow Bloggers, is what we’ve been doing—keep blogging and acting honorably. WE will prevail because these deceitful trolls have no stamina, no courage and no perseverance. So, hold true to your values and strong to your convictions and we will beat them.

I want to say thank you to Shaw at Progressive Eruptions for the work she has done at exposing these posers and thank you to Blue Pitbull, Infidel and The Swash Zone for supporting her. We may not all agree on politics, but we DO agree on principles and that’s because we know UNETHICAL behavior when we see it and DECENT people stick together.

GM Plant in Mexico to Receive $500 Million

General Motors (GM), or as many refer to it, Government Motors, because we, the taxpayer, own 60% of the onetime auto giant, is investing $500 million dollars in a Mexican auto plant to build a new mystery vehicle and eight cylinder engines.

I don’t know about you, but I find this rather disturbing considering our country is facing “the worst economic crisis since the great depression” (I think I could recite THAT sentence in my friggin sleep!); we’re at 9.5% unemployment; and all we hear from the Left is how the Republicans have ruined the economy with trickledown economics, tax cuts and how they’ve sent all the jobs over-seas. Hmm, I guess it’s okay that we send hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars AND jobs straight over the border though, huh?

I mean GM only closed 14 plants and 13 warehouses in 2009 leaving 20,000 people unemployed. This Mexican plant employs 11,000 workers and with this new influx of cash it will hire 390 new workers. I’m sure there are 11,390 people unemployed in the United States who would LOVE to have a job right about now!

Where is the outrage? Where is the outcry? Queue the crickets because the silence is deafening. The Left is notorious for their rage over anything and everything that Bush, or anyone on the Right, has done, real or imagined, but let Obama do something, even take over an American car company then send half a billion dollars to another country when we NEED it right HERE and you hear NOTHING. The hypocrisy is astounding.

That Mexican plant, and any other foreign GM plant, should be shut down—YESTERDAY and reopened here in America where it can employee LEGAL AMERICANS, because it is OWNED by United States taxpayers. A privately owned company can do whatever it wants as it has its own money, but when taxpayer money is involved it should then do what is RIGHT for the taxpayer.

I know I’m wasting my time writing about this, but when I see such a horrific injustice, I just can’t help myself. I believe in doing what’s RIGHT and it angers me when I see such inappropriate actions and by our OWN government no less! It’s actions like THIS that make me wonder how anyone could ever think government is more capable than the average person. Those in government are NOT Gods. They are flesh and blood humans, with failings and frailties like so many others and THAT is why I don’t trust them to run my life, our car companies, our banks, student loans, and our health care. I don’t have blind faith that human beings are without fault and with total power they won’t abuse it. It’s just too tempting to people with less moral character and Washington has proven time and again that they have LESS moral character than the average person.

To emerge with one’s dignity unscathed after encountering temptation’s call is a feat many will flaunt but few will actually achieve …

Obama Girl lost that Loving Feelin’

New Jersey resident, Amber Lee Ettinger, better known as Obama Girl, lip-synced a YouTube video about her “crush” on Candidate Barack Obama back in 2007. Her “tune” regarding Obama has since changed and she now gives him a B- because she wishes he would’ve spent his first year in office more focused on the economy.

Ettinger, 28, who doesn’t have health care, “I can’t afford it”, thinks Obama should have waited to tackle the enormous health care legislation that has been blamed for everything from Democratic in-fighting to the lost Kennedy Seat. “It’s definitely a distraction because of the economy being as bad as it is,” said Ettinger, “I know he’s getting a lot of flak for things that he’s not doing. In my opinion, I feel like he should be focusing a lot more on jobs and the economy. He did create some jobs, but most of them were government jobs and that doesn’t really help the middle class. But it helps a bit.”

On Hannity, the host, Sean Hannity, asked Amber if she had fallen out of love with Obama and she said, “I just don't have that big crush like I used to.”

When Sean said, “It’s gone.” Amber replied, “Yeah, I mean it was two years ago. If I had this crush on him the same way as I did in the beginning, I'd be the fool. You know, it's like a relationship. When you get into a relationship with somebody, they are great and perfect. They say all the right things. And then once you're in the relationship, it's like, okay, they're not that perfect.”

Hannity asked Ettinger if it was similar to your boyfriend lying to you and Amber replied, “Sort of.”

But Amber’s “line of the year” was, “Well, at least I wasn't the Edwards Girl, right? That's one thing I know.”

I am in 100% agreement with the former Obama Girl! I can’t imagine anyone aspiring to be an Edwards Girl! Although his illegitimate daughter is stuck with the title whether she likes it or not as John Edwards has finally acknowledged the fact that he sired her with mistress Frances Quinn Hunter while his wife, Elizabeth, battled with cancer. In my opinion, Edwards’ infidelity tops all Republican Cheaters combined.

They’re OUR Seats!

As many of us are aware, the Massachusetts’ Senate seat, which was vacated after Senator Ted Kennedy passed away, has become quite a heated race between Martha Coakley[D] and Scott Brown[R]. I have no real dog in this race so I haven’t been following it and I have no idea what the candidate’s ideals are, other than their party affiliation. Although, I did hear this from their most recent debate:

I have to admit that I was impressed with how Brown handled this question. Because he’s 100% correct! It’s NOT the Democrat’s seat; it’s NOT Ted Kennedy’s seat, even though he occupied it for 47 years; it IS the People’s seat.

Look at it this way. Obama’s not in Bush’s seat; Bush wasn’t in Clinton’s seat. The Presiden't seat is the PEOPLE'S seat!

As I said, I was impressed with Brown’s response. I’ve been saying for awhile now that we need MORE men and women representing us in the House AND the Senate who believe as Brown does. It’s the PEOPLE’S House; it’s the PEOPLE’S Senate; therefore they are the PEOPLES’ seats, hence, they are there for us—the PEOPLE. If we had more officials who possessed this type of mentality OUR country wouldn’t be in this current mess. Our officials are there to serve US, not themselves; not big business; not lobbyists. They have a duty to US and the sooner we elect honorable men and women to OUR seats, the faster we will have a country that better reflects our ideals and beliefs.

Politicians aren’t Gods, they are people, just like you and me, and they should be people who will reflect what We the People need and want. The elitist mentality needs to be abolished and be replaced with integrity, honesty and good character—something that has been sorely lacking in the last few decades.

Thumper’s Mother was Wise

Recently a lot of bloggers are writing about other blogs and bloggers. I thought I’d jump on that bandwagon, too. However, I’m taking a different venue with my complaint.

I read a blog recently that said to ask yourself the question, “Why do you blog?” My answer to that is: I blog because I love writing. It’s my passion. I also want to get out certain messages I think are important. When I do that, I want others to comment and give me their opinions. So, in short, I am blogging as a sincere way to debate. It gets extremely exasperating when others come to my blog (and other blogs) and bicker back and forth like a bunch of children.

I give no awards to the blogger who has the largest cyber-muscles. I give no awards for the best insult. I have my rules politely explained in the upper left hand corner of my blog and they are also stated in the comment section. But for some reason, people ignore them. I suppose it’s easy to ignore rules in the blogosphere, because how can one find these people? They are hiding behind a computer screen. It’s easy to call someone names when one has a screen for protection. That screen makes it nice and safe to insult someone. I find it quite cowardly. I think it shows a lot about a person’s character.

I always tell my children, “What you do if you won’t get caught makes or breaks your character.” I follow that analogy myself. Also, I conduct myself in the blogosphere with bloggers the way I conduct myself with real people. Just because you won’t find me doesn’t give me the right to treat you with less respect than if we were face to face. That’s my motto, anyway.

My 3 wishes:
1. Act like you are in the bloggers kitchen
2. Pretend you are face to face
3. If you have nothing nice to say; don’t say anything at all (Thumper’s mother was wise)

I thought I’d throw this out there for something to think about. Also, see Jennifer’s blog; she makes a very good point in her post.

Letterman & Palin- Enough Already

I'm sure just about everyone has heard what washed-up David Letterman said last week about Sarah Palin and her daughter. If not, I’ll stoop to Letterman’s disgusting level and tell you; because it’s relevant to my story.

“One awkward moment though during the game. Maybe you heard about it. Maybe you saw it on one of the highlight reels. One awkward moment for Sarah Palin at the Yankee game. During the 7th inning, her daughter was knocked up by Alex Rodriguez.”
**clap and laughter**
“You can see how that’d be awkward.”
**clap and laughter**
“Now cut that out!”
**clap and laughter**
“Get back in the dugout!”

Yes, that was the joke. If you want to call it a joke. I think it was a disgusting and vile thing to say. Sarah Palin and her 14 year old daughter, Willow, attended the Yankee game that night. There is definitely something wrong with the writers of that show AND Letterman. Not only did he read it, but he repeated it OUT LOUD to a LIVE audience that was being TAPED for millions of viewers. And then the audience! Why did they laugh? What is funny about a 14 year old girl and a 33 yr old baseball player having sex in the dugout? There should have been Boo’s coming from everyone in that audience. Or at least from EVERY parent! Where was the common decency in the crowd? Where were the morals?

Letterman also said this:

“The toughest part of her [Palin] visit was keeping Eliot Spitzer away from her daughter. That was the hard part.”

I can’t believe a 62 year old father would talk like that! I don’t care if he is a comedian! He’s a father and husband FIRST! How would he like it if Rush Limbaugh said something repulsive about his son? Well, this is someone’s child, someone’s daughter.

Governor Palin, being the respectable woman, wife and protective mother that she is, issued a well-mannered, but stern statement in reference to Letterman’s perverted comments.

“Concerning Letterman's comments about my young daughter (and I doubt he'd ever dare make such comments about anyone else's daughter): 'Laughter incited by sexually-perverted comments made by a 62-year-old male celebrity aimed at a 14-year-old girl is not only disgusting, but it reminds us some Hollywood/NY entertainers have a long way to go in understanding what the rest of America understands - that acceptance of inappropriate sexual comments about an underage girl, who could be anyone's daughter, contribute to the atrociously high rate of sexual exploitation of minors by older men who use and abuse others.’”

Todd Palin also had something to say to Letterman:

"Any 'jokes' about raping my 14-year-old are despicable. Alaskans know it and I believe the rest of the world knows it, too."

I suppose David Letterman felt some heat, and decided he HAD to say something, because he went on TV and said this:

WHAT! You’ve got to be kidding me. So, what it comes down to is...Oops, sorry Sarah, I wasn’t talking about A-Rod, the steroid king, having sex in the dugout with your 14 yr, you silly girl! I was talking about A-Rod doin’ your 18 yr old! Letterman thinks it’s okay because it was not about the 14 yr old it was really about the 18 yr old, Bristol, who had a child out of wedlock. Which, for the record, is what Letterman’s wife did. Yep, she got pregnant to him BEFORE they got married, which was 6 years later. Anyway, Letterman never said I’m sorry Governor Palin, I’m sorry Palin Family or even I’m sorry Teenage Girls. He NEVER said he was sorry PERIOD. He said he PROBABLY regrets saying the joke. PROBABLY? He doesn’t know if he regrets it? If I say something I know if I regret it or not! Imus sure KNEW he regretted what he said

Speaking of Sharpton. Where is he? Why hasn't he weighed in on this issue? He went all ballistic when Imus said “nappy headed hoes.” He also said, and I HEARD him, that he was for FAIR treatment of ALL people. Well, these comments affect WHITE teenage girls. Where is the outrage from Al's sharp tongue?

The double standards are horrifying. But we on the Right expect no less. This is no surprise. If these comments had been made about one of the Obama daughters, the MSM would’ve been ALL over it and Sharpton would be demanding heads on a platter. CBS would’ve been hounded and threatened day and night until Letterman and his writers were fired. Except this is a Conservative’s daughter, so it’s no big deal.

Letterman hasn’t been funny in years, in my opinion. And his attempt at humor with his Top 10 Highlights of Sarah Palin’s Trip to New York didn’t even get a smirk from me. And #2 was offending to Flight Attendants.

“Bought make-up at Bloomingdales to update her slutty flight attendant look.”

As I said in my Wanda Sykes post, I’m all for good, tasteful humor. I laughed at SNL’s stints about Palin. But Slutty Flight Attendants? Really? Every Flight Attendant I’ve ever seen has looked exceptionally professional. Letterman owes Flight Attendants an apology, too. Let's just hope it's a REAL apology. And not another, I probably regret saying it.

On the bright side, however, NOW, the National Organization for Women, did issue a response, after all, they're supposed to represent ALL women. While it’s not as harsh as I would’ve liked and they just HAD to add something Rush said over 15 yrs ago*, I’m glad they added Letterman to their Media of Shame.

I hope this is a lesson to BOTH sides. Sexism is something we have to stop. It goes hand in hand with hate speech. Women and children shouldn’t be exploited and they shouldn’t be the brunt of disgusting, vilifying jokes. I’m with NOW, who stated it hopes Conservatives and Liberals will join together in fighting sexism. I hope BOTH sides will join together and fight comedians, talk-show hosts, journalists and anyone else who defames women and children in the future. This isn’t political. It’s just the morally right thing to do.

*For the record, I didn’t listen to Rush during the Clinton Years; however, if NOW is correct and he did say something about young Chelsea Clinton, that’s despicable. If he didn’t apologize, he should have.

Hatred101

I’ve decided to address a problem that we, as a country, have had to deal with and a reader of mine brought up recently. You can read his comment here. I felt this topic needed a post all its own. I believe we’ve dealt with this situation a lot in the last 8 years and with the election of Barack Obama, it hasn’t dissipated like a lot of people HOPED it would. The era of being united has yet to be. At least I don’t see it, and my reader Octo doesn’t see it, either.

The Ubers are still out there. Who are the Ubers you ask? They are the crazies, the loons, the moon-bats, the wackos on the Left and Right. You’ve heard of them. They chain themselves to trees to save the tree. Or they kill the abortion doctor to save the baby. They don’t have rationale that WE normal people can comprehend. Their minds are virtually twisted.

For 8 years the Ubers on the Left have HATED Bush. They’ve wanted him DEAD, literally. Their hatred then spilled over to ANYONE who supported Bush or even remotely liked Bush or anyone associated with Bush. They HATE Bush today and will ALWAYS HATE Bush. Nothing short of a miracle will stop this blind hatred.

Now we have the Uber Right who HATE Obama. They want him DEAD, literally. Their hatred spills over to ANYONE who supports Obama or even remotely likes Obama. They are attacking people, like Octo, because Octo voted for Obama. They are blinded by their hatred and nothing short of a miracle will stop this hatred.

I’m respectful of EVRYONE and EVERY viewpoint; EXCEPT the Uber’s; because the Uber’s are illogical. Their views are irrational. However, you can’t argue with an Uber. The best course of action is to walk away because you won’t win an argument with an Uber. But how does one handle death threats from an Uber, as my reader has experienced?

I believe my reader did the right thing by calling the police. However, the authorities can only do so much. Unfortunately the Ubers are so twisted they don’t even realize when they’re breaking the law. They believe their cause is above the law. What then? Does one take the law into one’s own hands?

Are we supposed to suppress our voice because of the Ubers? I don’t think so. I believe we have to be true to ourselves. We have to value our principles and our values. We normal people on the Left and Right outnumber the Ubers by far. We have to make OUR stand and fight the good fight.

Our Eagle needs both wings to fly. So, don’t stifle yourself because of some Uber or something on some neglectful news station. Know your heart. Know IN your heart what you stand for. KNOW your values and principles and stand by them. I believe that as long as you’re true to yourself and you have respect, not just of yourself, but of others you will convey a commanding presence. Be powerful …be yourself. After that, what will be, will be.
